Mother's lesson: Stop setting up water play in the kitchen and then losing my temper when John spills the water. Just set it up outside!
And an aside: Add to Mary's culinary list (1) plain, whole yogurt mixed with mashed peaches and (2) spicy marinara sauce (she loved that one!). No choking or vomiting so far!Mother's lesson: Stop setting up water play in the kitchen and then losing my temper when John spills the water. Just set it up outside!
I do really well with the snack tray for while then always slack. It's such a good idea though!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time with the water. Water play keeps my boys busy for ages and ages!
UGH! The water play!! It's obviously right on schedule. Christina is driving me NUTS. Every five minutes I am needing to rescue another sink from the endless faucet. She is always "washing her hands." She'll even bring utensils or small bowls to the bathroom to wash them. It's cute and funny but highly annoying at the same time.
ReplyDeleteAt preschool, we use paint brushes to "paint" the sidewalks. It's great for their hand/finger muscles and fun too. It also keeps them occupied! We use a 1/2 gallon milk jug filled with water and different sized paint brushes.
ReplyDeleteI like the snack tray... I think I'll try that with Rosalie to encourage variety.
ReplyDeleteAnd about water play... try that with 5 kids who all want to do it and a water tank with 1000 gallons that has to last you a week (hint: we have to budget 1000 gallons WITHOUT water play.)
