For the crowning itself, the hosts' three-year-old daughter led the entire group in singing "Immaculate Mary," which was very impressive. (Maybe if we sang more religious hymns at home instead of nursery rhymes, John would be singing those lyrics too!) The children took up their flowers, then the group prayed the rosary while the children stood at our feet or played quietly nearby.

May Crowning Party
We were blessed to be invited to a May Crowning party hosted by some new friends where we got to meet about ten other Catholic families. These were all young families, so most of us had two-year-olds and babies, and some of them also had four-year-olds.

What a great idea! I'd never even thought of doing something like this! When our lawn is together next year and we actually have a place to put the Blessed Mother, maybe we'll do this! Thanks for posting this!
