Family Altar

Chris and I have long wanted to have a family altar. When we visited the F--- family home for the May crowning on Saturday, we saw their lovely family altar in the living room. I was inspired, so when we got home I assembled an altar in our dining room on the taller of our two sideboards.

You can see on the right a liturgical calendar that combines the modern, traditional, and historical calendars.

I have many little improvements I'd like to make, but it is a good start using items we had around the house already.

I have also long had a little "meditative area" on one half of one shelf in my mother's desk. Now all I have to do is take advantage of the children's afternoon nap more often to take a few minutes to sit and pray!
