Before settling down to a lot of home organization and planning for Surgery and Recovery, we wanted to have a day of family fun and connection. First, we stopped in at the historic Oakwood Cemetery to say our All Souls Day prayers, for which Pope Francis has extended the indulgences for the entire month this year.
We met with Pop-Pops mid-way between our cities for lunch (outdoors in the fresh air at the locally famous Beacon Drive-In), a walk-around at the Hatcher Botanical Gardens, and ice cream outdoors at Bruster's. It takes a lot of creativity to find ways to have fun that exposes us to very few germs--so important right now!--especially with the weather getting colder and rainier, but we certainly had success this weekend.
Back at home, we finished celebrating Mary's twelfth birthday with gifts and ice cream cake. Yes, this means we ate ice cream twice in one day.
Miscellaneous Moments from Sunday
Why do I worry excessively about not doing intentional arts and crafts with my Kindergartener when he makes things like this on his own?
