On Sunday night, we went on our annual visit to the Charlotte Motor Speedway Christmas Lights and 'Bethlehem Village' (carnival). We always go after Christmas day and the crowds are so much lighter and more manageable.

Five of eight children drinking hot cocoa and eating through three buckets of doughnuts |
We had only two full cups of hot cocoa spill this year. They have janitors with mops standing on hand for just this purpose.
I think this was our first year riding the bumper cars. Margaret (2) and Mary (5) loved it because they didn't have to drive.
Meanwhile, John (7) learned that driving is way more difficult than it looks!

We let the children pick three activities, which ended up being riding the train, going to the petting zoo, and riding the ponies.

Fun was had by all and, for me, the evening was full of lots more enjoyment and far less nausea
than in 2010 when I was expecting Margaret and
than in 2012 when I was expecting (and two weeks away from delivering) Joseph.
