John is in a newly super clingy-to-Mama phase, so today I continued my efforts to find a way to convince him to let me get some work done. John's Uncle Mike bought him a remote-controlled car last Christmas, but it was too advanced for him at the time: well, today I brought it out for the first time! My hope was that John would be so engrossed with his new toy that I could do some important paperwork, but my sweet boy was pretty darn nervous about this "vroom vroom" that seemingly comes alive.
By the end of the time with John, he would use the remote control only if he were sitting in my lap. You can imagine that it wasn't too easy for me to get that paperwork done!
All I can say is you must be storing up quite a reward in heaven. I hope you invite me over your huge mansion up there.
ReplyDeleteSarah: What do you mean about my storing up a reward in heaven?
ReplyDeleteAnd, of course you may come visit us! That room is the 400 square foot bonus room. It's gigantic! But I rarely get to go up there because John wreaks havoc and he's always at my ankles, thus, I just can't go up there.
I meant your mansion in heaven, silly. Because of all the self sacrificing you have to do with John. Every time I read one of your posts, this mom of five babies says "I don't know how she does it!" My kids are very good at self-directed play so I have never been in that situation, and on the days they are extra demanding I feel like pulling my hair out. So to be so patient with John who is that demanding all the time you must be piling up the treasure, is all!
ReplyDeleteSarah: Ah, yes, my mansion in heaven! Well, we know your first baby was very good at occupying herself and then all the kids had siblings after that to take the pressure off you. Do we really know what it would have been like if another child were first? I bet it would have been different if you had Jireh first! I'm just hoping that siblings help a lot and that I have only about 15 months more of providing so much of John's occupation.
