Unbeknownst to each other, Chris and I each uploaded posts to the blog about Oliver's death at 2:37 p.m.! We'll leave them both posted.
Rest In Peace Oliver!

Today our 6-year-old cat Oliver died very suddenly in front of us from being in seemingly good health. The veterinarian thinks Oliver died of a sudden lack of oxygen, essentially a pulmonary event, possibly secondary to a cardiac condition such as cardiomyopathy.
I've had Oliver since I found him as a lost feral kitten in my dad's backyard. He always maintained a neurosis from his feral days, needing affectionate reassurance often. We will miss him. John especially will miss him as he played with Oliver daily and now has no kitty to play with because crotchety old Missy will not allow it.
I'm so sorry about Oliver, Katherine!! :-(
ReplyDeleteoh, i'm so sorry! esp b/c he was John's little buddy. that's so weird to hear of a cat dying so "sudden". I would've guessed he was old, ya know?
ReplyDeleteI was so sorry to hear this news :-( May Oliver rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteAt least you were right there. I would be really upset if my baby were to have discovered the loss before I did. God is gracious.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to hear about losing Oliver. It's never easy when a pet dies...they become such a part of the family.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Katherine! I have not read the blog since Sunday, as I've had Dr appt's and worked all this week. My usual time to read is with coffee...I'm so sorry as I know how much the kitty's mean to you. The lack of oxygen sounds as if it were somewhat painless. Hope you are okay. Love you, mom (MIL)
