Sowing Here and There

The seedlings are growing beautifully. This week I sowed two more kinds of flowers plus second crops of lettuce, collards, and spinach. Right now I am dreaming of planting at least one bridal veil spirea, which bloom so exquisitely in the spring.

Best year yet for the azaleas in the back yard

One of my oxalis 'Charmed wine' has survived! Oxalis is an annual except in zones 8-11. We're zone 7a, so I didn't expect to see this gorgeous oxalis make another appearance this year, but one is popping up! The dark purple with white flowers against the nearly fluorescent green of the creeping jenny is so charming to me.

  1. Goodness, spring as sprung in your yard! We had a week of very warm temps, and now we're back to typical early spring weather for CNY. No planting until Memorial Day, but I'm itching to get the gardens started!
