Sharing

Overheard by Mama:
John: "Mary, I want both of us to sit in the chair."

Mary: "No, I don't want to share!"

John: "Mama, Mary doesn't want to share!" (Then before I can say anything, he asked politely . . .) "Mary, please can we share the chair?"

Mary (cheerfully): "Okay!"
And then they "hid" in the chair from me, giggling the whole time.
But they couldn't help but peek out at me to see if I was paying attention.

Other Cute Moments:

Mary's newest saying is to ask Margaret (every single time she makes a sniffle, peep, or squawk), "What's wrong, sweetie?"

Last night I overheard John in his room saying letters out loud, then asking, "What does that spell?" The letters did not create any words so I thought to myself, 'oh well, he still doesn't have that strong of letter recognition.' But then Chris wandered in there and came back laughing, holding the old computer keyboard we gave the kids to play with. John had been reading (totally accurately) the letters along the QWERTY keyboard! So much for random: my boy knows his letters now!
