Feast of the Immaculate Conception 2010

Over morning coffee, we assembled John's new birthday puzzle of frogs--always a good way to start the day.

It's always fun to wear blue on a Marian feast day. This morning John and I went to Mass, then tonight Chris went to the Missa Cantata.

I made white food for dinner in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary's immaculate soul. I discovered how to have a dinner of utter peace and quiet from the kids = serve them homemade fettuccine Alfredo.

And I served a white dessert of a little vanilla creme cake I picked up at the grocery store today.

I had a lot of trouble getting the kids to bed tonight. After putting the girl back in countless times for an hour, I basically gave up, closed their door, and was waiting till back up arrived (read: till Chris came home from Mass). But then John came running downstairs saying, "Mommy! Mommy! I did something upstairs and it's terrible." Somehow he accidentally flipped over his entire mattress onto the ground. You know you're tired when you're just too fatigued to scold anymore. Thankfully Chris came home minutes later and, of course, the children stayed in bed for him, based solely on him telling them to stay.

  1. How fun, the flipped ocer mattress looks like something my kids would do. Bed jumping is by far their favorite activity. I am considering not putting away Lana's crib for a while since it serves as a trampoline
