We are home safe from Boston!
Among Mary's new words this month, she now says "brother," in a fashion. I knew that the J-sound is a late development in toddlers, so I hatched a plan to have us call John "Brother," so it would be easier for Mary to say. My idea worked and Mary now calls him her word for brother, which is pronounced, "brop-bop."
It has been touching for me to see that, now that Mary can name John, she speaks of him so very often (many times per hour). She is continually asking where he is if he isn't in the room, or pointing him out if he is in the room, or handing me something that belongs to him. Mary adores her "brop-bop"!
So cute! Their siblings are just about their whole world at this age. I hope mine always love each other the way they do now. If they can be best friends, too, it will be icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteMary Elizabeth calls John Joseph "Joja" and Will "Wow."
I love it when she comes running into the room with a giant smile on her face and hands raised in the air exclaiming "Hi Joja Wow!"
She'll get it sooner than you think!! Bridget can say J sounds.
