February 13 Snow

On Friday night it snowed quite a bit for us in the South! So, on Saturday morning we tromped outside into a winter wonderland.

St. Francis looked to me like he was wearing a Russian hat and cloak of sorts.

We bought a children's plastic snow shovel and, let me tell you, that was five dollars well spent.

Mary was so stiffly bundled in our makeshift snow gear (she was wearing a full set of John's thermal pajamas beneath her dress, tights, and sweater), she reminded me of little Randy in "A Christmas Story."

You can really see Mary's hazel eyes here.

Mary was concerned about riding in the sled.

She preferred for Daddy to hold her.

But after a while even Mary wanted to tromp through the snow herself.

  1. That is the most darling picture of Mary (the one of her Hazel eyes)! Beautiful! Looks like you got quite a lot of snow....my boys would LOVE your sled!

  2. Looks like fun! We're having fresh snow for the first time in weeks-- all the Southern states have been getting it! We have the same red shovels. Too funny! Of course, the boys still want ours, so I end up "shoveling" with the little ones!
