Mary Loves to Dance

Mary loves to dance! I think she's more of a dancer than John was, although he's really started to like dancing recently. Mary starts grooving any time she hears music or singing, or if I simply ask her if she wants to dance (and there is no music), and sometimes just when she feels in the mood, like the other night in the bath tub.

Today I pulled out one of the few remaining popular music CDs in our collection and put on the soundtrack to "Rushmore," which is mostly benign love songs, but you'll hear in this video clip when a harsher song comes on. Our kids virtually never hear music like this! In fact, we're really careful, and with good reason: While at the hotel last week, John turned on the radio to a rock station and, after a mere ten seconds of listening to a song he'd never heard before, he began singing the (inappropriate) lyrics perfectly.

The kids consider it one of the biggest treats when Daddy takes them to the bonus room, turns on the kid music, and let's them dance like crazy!
