Weekend Houseguests

This weekend, Dave and Sarah--some friends from our former parish in Atlanta--were passing through town and stayed the night. They brought with them their five children which, if I'm not mistaken, are ages six, five, three, two (one week older than John), and 13 months. Now that is a whirlwind!

John's first time playing swords.

Mary adored all the attention. Normally I can leave her in her booster seat (or anywhere else not on my body) for only several minutes before she cries too much, but she probably sat in her seat happily for 20 to 30 minutes while the various children came by and entertained her.

The children watched the construction video currently checked out from the library. John still calls construction vehicles "dirt downs," even though he can pronounce "construction vehicles" (and "excavator" and "front loader" and anything else!). When he was younger, he named them "dirt downs" because they pick up dirt and put it down elsewhere.
