John has been celebrating his birthday for days! And the cute boy still seems clueless about what a birthday is or that he is "two"! His real birth day was hectic, so I didn't bake his cupcakes until the next day. He can get through opening only one or two gifts at a time, so four days later, he still has some gifts to open. Here you can see the balloon I bought him of his favorite cartoon character, Curious George. John described the balloon as: "Ah-ah!" [the sound of a monkey] [slurping sounds] "Cone!" [as in, ice cream cone]
John offering to share his precious new truck with Mary:
John kept pestering me as the cupcakes were cooling, so I banished him to the den while I decorated them, then I hid them. I was preparing dinner when I heard a distant, "Mmmm . . . mmmm . . . yum!" It took me some long seconds to figure out what I was hearing, then I bolted into the dining room where John had discovered the baked goods and dug through the frosting on two of them. I had to laugh because John simply doesn't know the rule that when you find hidden cupcakes, you're probably not supposed to eat them.
Funny...I think we celebrated Emma's second birthday for several days as well! :)
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look yummy! I don't blame John for sneaking a taste while they were hidden...comprehension of "rules" or not. :)
I'm so far behind! Looks like a Happy Birthday! Yummy cake. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose look wonderful! I want one!
