Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed
Today, November 2nd, in the Roman Catholic Liturgical Calendar is the Feast of All Souls, or All Souls Day.
On this day, or on any day during the Octave (period of eight days) from All Saints Day (November 1st-8th), Catholics around the world visit cemeteries and pray for the repose of the souls of their faithfully departed loved ones.
Here is a picture of our young John praying at the cemetery this afternoon.
Sorry that we dressed John in the wrong color vestments for the occasion. We hope that his prayers are received nonetheless. If general cuteness counts we shouldn't have any problems.
