FYI, rubbing alcohol does wonders to remove blue ballpoint pen ink "graffiti" from beautiful ivory-colored dining chair seat cushions that only a single, career gal would purchase. (Thanks for the tip, Sarah!)
Try using an iron on low heat with a brown paper bag between the page and the iron, and also under the affected page. It will melt the wax and soak into the paper bag.
Since this has turned into an "ask Sarah" column... Dear Sarah, My daughter smeared vaseline on a rocking chair cushion. Any tips on how to get out greasy stains? yours truly, Stained in Georgia
Oh man! I feel your pain. Is there any way to get crayon (even washable ones) out of an old book?
ReplyDeleteCrayon is basically wax and you might have some luck scraping with a straight edge like a non-serrated knife (butter knife perhaps).
