I think all pregnant ladies with cravings will be glad to know that one can buy Carnival Funnel Cake mix at stores (I got mine at Bed, Bath, & Beyond) or online!
During my pregnancy with John, I was having mad cravings for funnel cakes, so when the county fair came to town, we went. We probably spent $20 to $30 on admission tickets and food and such before buying our measly funnel cakes to satisfy my craving. Who knew I could buy a can of mix to make 12 cakes for only $4!
Good to know! With both of my pregnancies I've actually had a huge aversion to sweets (salt and meat are my major cravings), but I will keep it in mind for when I'm NOT pregnant! I would say maybe you're having a girl since you're craving sweets, but you said you craved them with John too, so who knows???!!! Can't wait to find out in a few weeks!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I hope they are as good after you make them as you remember them to be. You'll have to let us know.
ReplyDeleteLet's see. I craved ice cream with them all but particularly mint chocolate chip milkshakes with my boys. Also I craved Apple Jacks cereal with the boys and with Mary Elizabeth it was Cookie Crisp. I hope I haven't doomed them to all have a horrible sweet tooth!
I never even heard of funnel cake. Hmm. Better look it up now.
ReplyDeleteRebecca: I crave naughty sweets in all seasons of life, so I don't think it reflects the gender of my baby. ;)
ReplyDeleteSarah: No, save yourself! Don't find out what funnel cakes are! Remain in happy ignorance!
ReplyDelete(They're essentially doughnut dough drizzled into deep frying oil to create a doughnut shaped like a pile of spaghetti. And covered in powdered sugar.)
I have never had a funnel cake.
ReplyDeleteI know, big shock eh? ;)
But with this homemade funnel thing... you still have to deep fry, right? Do you have a deep fryer?
Elaine: Have you ever eaten *any* carnival food? ;)
ReplyDeleteNo, we don't own a deep fryer. I was hoping I could just use a deep pot.
you'll have to post pictures of your funnel cakes! And tell us if they're as good as...carnival/fair ones! LOL
ReplyDelete"Elaine: Have you ever eaten *any* carnival food? ;)"
ReplyDeleteOf course not :)
