Not that I’m finished with my other books . . . But my latest read is “My Body Is Not a Prayer Request.” This book is written by a brilliant writer who is disabled and a Christian (but not Catholic). It was absolutely gripping by the first page and I’m a few chapters in. Disability is a topic of new and great interest to me in the last year or two as I’ve found myself unexpectedly the parent of a permanently disabled child. The author points out statistics of how many people become (truly) disabled—which is many of us—and asks the reader, “Are you able-bodied? Or are you just temporarily non-disabled?” Anyway, it’s a fascinating (and funny!!!) read so far!
