Hurricane Irma and other factors had prevented the grandparents from meeting David for seven whole weeks, so this Sunday we met in Greenville, SC

We walked off some of our pizza lunch by walking around the beautiful park in downtown Greenville. The weather was exquisite with a high of only 70.
Feeling unfamiliar with our momentarily lighter selves, Grandmom and Pop-Pops took us to Spill the Beans ice cream shop where we ate very large portions of individually mixed flavors. We felt more like our normal, stuffed selves after that.
While there, Joseph escaped from where he was visiting with Grandmom, walked over to a woman on the sofa, got a few inches from her astonished face, and asked her if she were missing any of her teeth. The woman replied, "I still have all my teeth!"
At that point, Grandmom swooped into action trying to smooth over the incident while I hid in the corner of the other side of the eating area so perhaps the woman would not figure out that Joseph was my son. And teenagers say we embarrass them!
Our drive home was the opposite of the morning drive to Greenville, in which everybody napped in silence so Chris and I actually talked in conversation for an hour and a half. On the drive home, it was much, much louder and with more crying and fighting. You can't win 'em all.
