Strawberry Picking 2013

On Saturday morning, we met some friends at a small, fun, family farm 15 minutes from our house for an annual strawberry-picking outing. Now with ten pounds of strawberries, we hope to make homemade strawberry ice cream just for fun!

The farm offered a sand pit, a maze, a water game, riding toys, and a kitchen selling delectable treats like apple fritters, funnel cakes, and strawberry slushies.

Margaret (25 months) is at the stage when she takes off her socks and shoes whenever she can. All my two-year-olds have gone through it. Likely for the next year, I'll do my toddler practice of not putting on her socks and shoes as we load into the car, but only when we get to the destination, so I don't have to do it twice.

  1. HOW FUN! This is right by our house, and we pick every year!! The kids love the play area as well!

  2. Looks like a beautiful day! We have a farm just down from the road us that we usually pick at...but they had a lot of rain damage this year and haven't had "pick your own strawberries" yet. May I ask what farm you went to? All the kids are wanting to go :)

Hope all is well with your family :)
    Many blessings,

  3. That looks like amazing fun, Katherine! I am struck by how your family is dressed while we are still putting heavy-ish jackets on the kids.

  5. Christine: It hit the mid-70s today! Would have been a bit warm had it not been for the lovely breezes. Ahhhh.
