Aviation Museum

Yesterday while I was at an appointment, Chris took John to the Carolinas Aviation Museum out at the airport. Sadly, Daddy did not remember to take the camera, so I have no cute pictures documenting John was simultaneously afraid of all the noisy airplanes taking off overhead but ecstatic about all the surrounding "cop-cops" (airplanes and helicopters). John even got to climb inside a cockpit and push all the buttons!

When I got home, John couldn't stop talking about going to see the cop-cops. He talked about it while falling asleep last night and it was one of the first things he talked about upon waking up this morning. Yesterday he was having a particularly animated "conversation" with me, using wild hand gestures and appropriate noises to describe all the planes taking off. Unfortunately, John is acutely aware of my videotaping, so his conversation became much more tame once I was filming. In fact, John informed me that he was "all done" with being filmed and then he disappears under the table, where he hides until I turn off the camera.

We plan to return and think it would be a great activity when Chris' parents visit us (we hope) in a couple of weekends, since John's grandfather was in the Air Force.

  1. That's really cute! I love how he tells you he's all done filming and hides under the table!
