On Saturday, January 27, 2018, Margaret (6-3/4) had her First Confession.
Margaret cried "tears of joy," declared this "the happiest day of my life," and said that "Confession is the best sacrament of all the sacraments!" I may have done her catechism, but I couldn't have catechized that joy: it's a gift of the Holy Ghost!
Afterward, we and all the siblings took her to lunch at a restaurant of her choice to celebrate.
I'm moved by her response! Do you think melancholics take sin more seriously and therefore feel the relief of forgiveness more keenly?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Frances! It seems to make sense that a melancholic would respond that way. However, both my John and Mary had a similarly strong, positive reaction to their First Confessions while their personalities are quite different.
