Iconic . . . our Mary reading up in a tree!
It is difficult among siblings to find true solitude necessary for enjoyable reading time, but this creative solution works.
One benefit of homeschooling (parenthood in general) for this bookworm is having to preview many books for our children to make sure they are suitable. Please, don't throw me into the brier patch . . . I read "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" in the last 24 hours--delightful even 30 years after reading it the first time!--then promptly handed it off to Mary (6), who got first dibs on it because John had just started a Hardy Boys novel.
I've recommended Mrs. Frisby many times.
