Our Margaret Anne turned three years old today!
I really enjoy a child's third birthday because it is the first one at which the child has awareness and anticipation of turning one year older and feeling like a Very Big Girl (or Boy), indeed.
Breakfast: oatmeal brown sugar pancakes |
Margaret makes many contraptions to be "slings" for her doll Sally, just like Mama wears her baby, and now Margaret has a real sling of her own! |
Washing Sally in her new bathtub |
Donning the new twirl skirt sewed by Mama |
John made Margaret a paper bag puppet as well as a decorated shopping bag for when she plays shopping and cooking/kitchen |
Reading some of our new books after breakfast |
Birthday dessert! |
Margaret must be falling in bed exhausted tonight after wearing her apron all day, insisting that she be the only one to help me in the kitchen at each meal ("because it's my birthday," said solemnly), bathing her dolly many times in between wearing her in her sling--alternating on her front and back during all her activities. Being a mama tuckers a girl out!
Happy Birthday to Margaret! She looks so joyful. What a fun day you gave her :) And cool skirt.
