Happy St. Valentine's Day!
Ten years ago, I was not even thinking about becoming Catholic nor had I met Chris.
Nine years ago, I was in the midst of becoming Catholic, but still had not yet met Chris.
Eight years ago, I was a Catholic and a new bride of one month.
Seven years ago, I was a mother of our first baby, then two months old.
And here I am, wife to Chris and mother of four children. I have so many sweet hearts in my life! I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat!
I have just discovered that I have been on Chris' left side in every one of our anniversary photos! |
This is what an anniversary looks like a mere 12 days after having a baby. |
St. Valentine's Day breakfast 2014
The simple-yet-festive breakfast table set the night before |
I realized in the middle of the night (Wednesday overnight) that I hadn't bought any Valentine's day candies or treats and now the snow was nearly a foot high, which shuts down a city like ours. I thought, 'well, the children don't really know what to expect, they won't miss anything.' But as I came down to breakfast the day before St. Valentine's Day, Mary told me how excited she was to be receiving a heart-shaped box of chocolates the next day. Uh-oh! So, good daddy that he is, Chris braved the snowstorm to drive to the half-empty grocery stores to obtain said heart-shaped box of chocolates. Our van couldn't make it back up our driveway, despite a lot of effort, so it stayed parked down at the street most of the day till Chris shoveled out enough of the driveway to get it up and parked in the garage.
