John turned seven years old on Thursday!
Being goofy at his birthday breakfast |
It is hard to believe our firstborn is such a big boy.
John is a very enjoyable child to have, who is proving to be basically very obedient by nature, and his 'naughtiness' almost always stems from just being a goofball with a ton of energy. He remains a peacemaker in his heart. John loves the written word, listening to stories on audio CD for a couple of hours daily as well as requesting reading from his Mama. He's also growing as a Big Guy lately, spending much time digging outdoors, planning battles, and racing around with other boys at the 18-acre woods we visit once a week.
Watching Sister's birthday message |
His sister made him a birthday video (which he watched on my iPhone), to deliver the message: "Dear John, You are my best friend and I want to play with you every day." (I plan to use this recording to play back at them when they are fighting and very much the opposite message is being delivered!)
Sister contributed her own money and chose two gifts for him: a squiggle worm thing and a tiny flashlight |
Sporting the new pair of overalls which John has been requesting for months |
In the evening, we attended the six o'clock Latin Mass, whose intention was for John (a practice we like to do for our children on their birthdays), then went out to dinner.
My dinner date was a sleepy fellow, but cute enough to make up for it! |
