The scene: It is Quiet Time after lunch. The toddler and baby are napping. The 5- and 6-year-olds are playing quietly in their respective rooms. There is a pitter patter of little feet coming down the stairs. Mary (newly 5) enters the kitchen.
Mama does not have time to hide the bag of chocolate chips by her computer where she is sitting.
Mary: "Ah ha!" [finger stabbing into the air triumphantly] "Who has been eating chocolate chips during Quiet Time?"
Mama is about to apologize for sneaking this random chocolate treat when Mary continues . . .
"This is a clue!"
And she runs off to try to figure out who was eating the chocolate chips.
All I can say is that I am glad Mary isn't as good of a detective as I am.
This made me lol
