The other day during Quiet Time, I went upstairs seeking Mary and couldn't find her anywhere. I searched high, I searched low. I was just starting to think of those dreadful newspaper reports one reads about how the children sneak out past the napping babysitter or caregiver and then get into dire physical danger, when I checked Mary's room one more time. I don't know why, but I looked under her bed and there Mary was: fast asleep!
Today she gave me another Quiet Time scare. I assigned her to the den because she kept bothering her little sister in their shared room. When I went in to check on her, she was gone.
See Mary anywhere? |
I wondered if she'd slipped out the double doors, but those generally make a racket when opened.
Still don't see her? |
I looked behind the couch, even under the couch.
There she is!!!
Sleeping safer |
I didn't want to wake Mary but I didn't want her to suffocate either, so I lifted up the couch pillow and propped it up. This girl gets my heart racing with fear even when she's sleeping!
Oh Katherine, that is TOO FUNNY. That sounds so familiar, too and I think one of my kids pulled a similar stunt - Christina, probably. Hilarious, but what a horrid, panicky feeling before you find them!
ReplyDeleteThis is the funniest thing I've seen all day!
