What Makes Sense to Children

Sometimes children say the strangest things that make sense to them. (I suppose they think the same thing about adults.)

This afternoon John approached full of enthusiasm and asked, "Can I use the black umbrella to sleep on the cement in the garage?"

After a long pause, I said 'yes' just because I wanted to see what he was talking about.

Indeed, it was just as he had spoken. Silly me for being confused. When asked why he was wearing his bicycle helmet while sleeping on the cement beneath the umbrella, he answered, "because sometimes bugs bite my head and make it bleed."

More things that make sense to him . . .
