Sarah: I'm feeling okay. It is very helpful to have my aunt here! Although I do confess to being a crabby, nervous wreck on the hike because I was worried the baby or two-year-old would get hurt (e.g., crack their heads open on a rock, plunge over the edge of the trail to drown in the water below, get mauled by one of the many large dogs being walked on the trail--like the pit bull who growled at Mary as we hiked past). Honestly I felt like my mother's hormones were too early postpartum to be on a hike. It was quite the contrast to when I was 25 years old and hiking the world, often alone in remote places, and happy as a lark. This time all I could see was danger lurking around every corner.
How are you feeling after all this walking and bustle? You're brave!

ReplyDeleteYou may be one of the few if any married people who skip purgatory, my friend.
ReplyDeleteSarah: Not hardly, my friend.
