Daddy Is Home

Chris is home from Hawaii! Even better, that should be the last business travel until the baby will likely be about seven weeks old.

One Astute 27-Month-Old! Mary asked me to play "Ring Around the Rosie," so we did. When she fell down and I didn't, she said, "I want you to fall down!" I replied, "Honey, that is hard for me." She asked, "Is the new baby in your belly very heavy?"

Why Clarity Is Important! During breakfast table conversation, John remarked to his Grandmom, "You're getting old."

We all gasped and tried not to laugh. Grandmom began asking about all the other grandparents and whether they were getting old. Imagine our surprise when John kept saying that no, they were not, only Grandmom was getting old!

Finally something occurred to me: "John, do you mean that Grandmom is still growing up?"

Yes! That was it! John explained that all the other grandparents are already old, but Grandmom is still growing up the way that he is still growing up. So the whole thing was a compliment of sorts!
