People Magazine Hero of the Year 2010

The director of Reece's Rainbow, one of my favorite charities, has been chosen as a finalist for the People Magazine Hero of the Year 2010. Reece's Rainbow defends the sanctity of life by raising money and creating a website chock full of adoption information to encourage people to adopt children with Down Syndrome from international orphanages. Many of these children are sent at age four to regular mental institutions, where the care is so poor that almost all of them die within a year (I don't have the exact percentage at hand). These are otherwise healthy children with an intellectual disability who would thrive in America. So, if you're interested in voting, please go to People Magazine and VOTE NOW for Andrea R. of Reece's Rainbow!
