A Present Without Giftwrap

Sometimes presents come wrapped in packages with bows and sometimes they don't. Today Chris (who works from home) came and found me in the kitchen, and he put his coworker on speaker phone to ask me an editing question, which I answered. I was in the midst of a day at the end of my rope with the children (more my fault than theirs, in this case) and was at that moment trying to make two children be quiet and one kept hanging onto my legs and my whole life just felt low-grade chaotic. But for just a minute I got to be smart and confident and to hearken back to when I was a Professional Editor and Business Owner who Supported Herself.

Thank you, honey. Bringing that question to me was a really big gift!

  1. so nice to wear many hats, isn't it? I love talking photography or "consulting" on a design for an advertisement for local placement... :)

  3. I love it. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the day to day of mommyhood/housewife. While I think it's the MOST rewarding job there is, there are definitely moments when I long for my previous life of working girl. It's nice to get reminders of our other capabilities from time to time.
