I remember at least a year ago chatting with my mom-friend Elaine about children's developing drawing skills. She said that, in her experience, one day when a child is three, he will suddenly burst forth with a stick figure (and she described how simple it would be) when, heretofore, all he'd managed were seemingly random scribbles. Elaine later even found for me this neat web page showing how children's drawing develops.
Today was the day! John drew stick figures on his DoodlePad, so I had to take a photo for posterity. He talked me through them as he drew them. Each person is two giant eyeballs atop two long stick legs. Although we count only three sets of legs, there are actually four sets of eyeballs and he said that this was our whole family.
How fun!
