I believe that today is the first time ever John has asked why.
He was clamoring to get a magnetized measuring tape off of the refrigerator and I told him 'no'. He replied, "Because because because . . . why?"
I've been wondering so long when he'd begin saying why that I said, "Great question!" And then I explained why.
Let the fun begin! Anyone want to place bets on how soon John is pestering me with unending whys and I shriek, "Because, that's why!"?
Believe it or not, I have not experienced an annoying "why" stage.
ReplyDeleteOh, I imagine you may find yourself saying that sooner than later! :) "Because I said so," and "Because I make the rules," will soon follow.
ReplyDeleteAlso fun is this exchange:
Mommy: I said please don't do that
Emma: Well I said yes
Mommy: And I said no
...on and on and on it goes...
We are in the throes of "whydom" over here. It is starting to get annoying and sometimes it is funny. Tonight Joseph asked, "Why do you talk out of your mouth?"
ReplyDeleteHe asks many befuddling questions. Once Michael was putting a netflix in the mailbox and Joseph said, "is that a DVD?" Michael said, "yes." Then Joseph said, "why?"
I am getting more comfortable with just saying "I don't know" instead of trying to come up with an answer for many of his questions.
