Dropping Like Flies

Mary is on the mend but John succumbed to the illness this morning and is vomiting every ten minutes. I have felt sick since last night, but nothing acute has happened. I suspect Norovirus. I'm astonished at how much laundry an illness like this creates and my mind is reeling to think of what happens when this sweeps through a family with many children.

  1. Oh dear! That's not fun. Emma, Jason, and I had a nasty tummy bug the first week of December! Went through Jason and I pretty fast, but it lingered in Emma. I'm so grateful that then-3 month old Jamie was spared.

And yes, there was A LOT of laundry, especially at 2AM!!!

  2. Oh Katherine!

I am so sorry to hear that your family is ill. Focus on laundry, food and love for your family right now and forget everything else. This will pass before you know it!

  3. We had the same experience as Janeane--Chris and I were over the worst within about 24 to 36 hours, but it stuck with Theo for a week! The poor kid's pants still don't fit right after the weight he lost. Nasty bug!

  4. All I can say is, you better not end up spending lots of time in purgatory.

  5. i'm so sorry katherine!! we went through it starting Christmas day! it spared NO ONE! it was awful and i totally sympathize. speaking of the laundry, it was awful, but doubly awful for us... not b/c of the number of kids, but b/c i was already behind on laundry since it was Christmas week!
i pray that everyone recovers quickly - it's so heartbreaking when the little ones are so sick!

    blessings and prayers -
