Sunday Fun

Today after Mass we went on a little adventure. We tried to visit our favorite "safari," but discovered there was a line outside the gate of about one hundred cars (instead of the typical five)! We passed on that experience and drove on to the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
John was thrilled to see all the big trains.

There were all manner of vehicles: many vintage cars, this fire engine, neat wagons, motorcycles, planes, everything!

Sweet Mary likes to make cute faces at me from her perch.

An afternoon ice cream treat!

The little historic towns of Spencer and Salisbury are homes to many interesting historical moments. The towns are peppered with signs like these.

To my chagrin, as we were leaving and I saw this freeway sign, immediately I remarked, "Wow, Albermarle! That's where Kellie Pixler is from!" Of course, I'm sure everyone remembers that one of the runners-up on American Idol four years ago was from this tiny town that nobody knows for any other reason. I think I need to further remove myself from "the world" to get more of this useless trivia out of my brain and make space for edifying information!

As a little note: Potty training is going well, a couple of weeks into it! I have John in diapers only at nap and bedtimes. He has accidents, but they're very manageable and he's staying dry most of the time.
