I am having so much fun watching John's imagination blooming (and, with it, his first nightmare a few days ago!). He still doesn't play alone longer than maybe 15 minutes at best, but when he does he is a real chatterbox. John now chatters away while playing, acting out different parts. Lately he has been playing with his many vehicles: red Jeep, yellow Jeep, 1950s Chevy, race car, and so forth. I'll find them in some random corner of the kitchen, all "parked" in a row. When John is playing, I'll hear something like this coming from the other room:
"Hello Mr. Reynolds! [a neighbor of ours] Get in, get in. Vroom vroom. Excuse me. Get out, Mama. Okay. Get out, Daddy. Excuse me. Vroom vroom. Get in, get in. Get in, Mama. Okay! Get in, Daddy! We are driving."
Isn't it so fun to watch and be a part of???
ReplyDeleteLast night, Emma carried a baby doll around...singing to it, soothing it, and tucking it in bed. She even repeatedly asked Jason and I to "be quiet...the baby is sleeping!" And she "read" it a bedtime book. SO cute!
So polite, with all the "excuse me"s! It will be very interesting to see if he tries to include Mary in his imaginative play. :)
