Mary's expression doing a test drive says, "What's this, Mama? I don't think I like this stroller thing!"
But then she decided that maybe it was okay:
And here are the kiddos taking their first double stroller ride around the neighborhood:
I didn't really like having Mary so far away from me, to be honest! I didn't know if she was warm enough. I didn't know if her eyes were opened or closed or whether she was relaxed. And even though she was so tired at the beginning of our walk, she couldn't fall asleep until we got home and I wore her in my Maya wrap. However, it was nice to give my aching back and shoulder a break from wearing Mary so often.
That stroller is nice looking! I like it!
ReplyDeleteWe just bought a double stroller too! Never thought I'd ever use one. I put the baby in the back, though...maybe you could try that? I know my back seat reclines all the way, so I snuggle him in there with blankets to nap. My older son likes being in the front anyway to meet the world head on, but maybe yours is designed to have the heavier child in the back? Mine holds 40 lbs. in the back and 50 in the front.
ReplyDeleteI love Mary's happy face!
ReplyDeleteKatherine,
ReplyDeletewhich stroller is this??
Courtney: Good idea. I'm still learning what our stroller does, but it appears that the rear seat reclines while the front doesn't. They each hold up to 40 pounds. I'll try Mary in back.
ReplyDeleteJamie: It's the Baby Trend you told me about. The link to the stroller is in the post. I wanted to tell you that Babies R Us carries it on its website, but our local BRU did not carry any in-store. We went to Target where they were carried in-store, but only in one color. So, if you know you want it or have test-driven it at Target, you might like to order it online to choose whichever color you want.
ReplyDeleteKatherine I am so glad you got this stroller so you can test it out for me!! LOL
ReplyDeleteHow does it handle/drive? Anything about it that is bugging you? keep me posted as you use if you can to tell me what you think!
I want to get a double BEFORE the baby is born so I have it right away since she will be born in PRIME outing/walking season.
Thanks
Jamie
We tried that stroller in Target too! Jamie, if I recall correctly, it's designed so the infant seat always goes in the front. I wear babies when walking at least until 6 months, so that would make me really uncomfortable to have the baby so far away. Kolcraft makes a double stroller that has seats that can be configured in three or four ways: infant seat in front or back, both children facing out, both facing in, one out, one in, etc. No standing option though like the Baby Trend. We considered it, but we have tall children and a year ago our DS1 was already too tall for it...and now outweighs it! We ended up with the Graco Quattro Tour Duo. I don't like that both seats face out, but with the baby (7.5 mo) reclined it's doable. Sorry to be nosy, but we just did SO much research (on joggers too!) that it might help someone. :-)
ReplyDeleteCourtney: What helpful information! I thought I did pretty good research, but yours was much better.
