Christmas Decorating

Yesterday was Gaudete Sunday, which, being a joyous liturgical day, makes for a nice day during Advent, a penitential liturgical season, to start Christmas decorating. (Remember, Christmas lasts 40 days and doesn't end until February 2, which just so happens to be my birthday!) Our parish has its own Christmas tree lot, one of its biggest fundraisers, and it was selling the Frasier firs I like, so we stopped by after Mass to buy two trees and a wreath.

John was napping when Chris unloaded the trees from the roof of the van and put them up in the den. When John awoke, I told him, "There are two trees in the den! You've got to come look!" He was quite confused, but kept saying, "trees!" as he followed me to the den. Following is the video of his walking into the den:

I was wearing Mary in my sling while filming, so you can hear her snoring in the background noise. Also, note that John counts, "two, six, eleven!" (as he did in the video from last week of chasing the peacocks). He counts that way often, as eleven is his current favorite number.

John helped me set up the nativity set by unwrapping each piece and handing it to me.

John helped us with the tree lights too.
