Our dark-haired beauty is such a blessing!
In cute accomplishments, John is now saying what I think is his first three-word sentence: "I did it!" His earlier sentences had been two-word commands: "Get it," "Cut it." This morning he was turning the television on and off by himself, cheerfully exclaiming, "I did it!" When I would reply, "Yes, you did it," he wouldn't even get confused by the pronoun (as he has for the last month or two) and would reiterate "I did it!" In the same theme, I noticed today that he was refusing Daddy's hand on the stairs and saying, "self!" (as in, I'll do it myself). This follows after months of my insisting he take the stairs himself because of my pregnancy and John's unhappiness about it, so maybe all our talk about him being a "big boy" is rubbing off. He can do it himself!
I'm loving the daily updates! And the awake pictures are very fun!
ReplyDelete:)
she's adorable!!
ReplyDeletemy daughter had trouble with the pronoun thing. i remember saying, "i have an idea!" and she said, "you dea?" i kept trying to correct her- it was similar to who's on first. pretty funny- our language.
enjoy those babes.
congrats on the hbac!
Elizabeth: Yes, I've thought many times that trying to teach John pronouns was like "Who's on First?" It's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteFYI, I haven't had a C/S. I got involved with ICAN when my first son was breech late and I was exploring delivery options. I'm just very interested in birthy things, so I've stayed involved and love to continue learning! :D
Oh, she is just so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's still a source of wonder for me how one day, the baby is inside the womb, and the next day, your family grows, even though the baby has been with you since the moment of conception. It's like all of a sudden, you have this additional person in the house. I love it!!
I'm really looking forward to reading more about Mary and her interactions with big brother John!
Janeane: I know what you mean! I watch Mary in fascination, how she sleeps for long stretches, then slowly stretches her body and twists her head . . . and I think, "That's what I was feeling! That's what she was doing, right there inside of me!"
ReplyDeletei love coming to see her change each day. utterly amazing!
ReplyDeleteas far as talking, just tonight as i was putting Charlie to bed - i turned to leave his room and he yelled at me: Hey! [pause] Wait!!
So funny!!
not so funny when he's saying not-so-nice things such as: you're mean!
I'm looking forward to hearing your experience at homebirthing! or do i have to go to ican for that?! ;)
