Planting Tomatoes
I planted a tomato garden for the first time. It took me four days to complete the Home Depot trip, amend the soil, plant the tomatoes, dig into the rock-hard soil to insert the bamboo stakes (with Chris' help!), and string the trellis. I could only work in spurts and stolen moments as John and the weather (several summer storms) would allow.

During my first big working morning, I parked John in his stroller safely beneath the shade of the deck while I worked nearby.
Voila, my string trellis! The idea is that as the tomatoes grow (they are indeterminate, so should grow five to eight feet), I will keep adding more string layers every eight inches or so to support the vines.
