The last weekend of Thanksgiving break involved a lot of fun, which was in stark contrast to this time last year.
On Sunday, John participated in the Turkey Cup hockey tournament again.
Then in the evening, the oldest three went to an Advent caeli dance that started with a living Rosary (acted out by children).
A milestone week followed in that this is the first time I haven't had childcare help since October 2020. I've always been a Homeschooling Mom, so I didn't even previously leave my little ones in nurseries at co-op! I was definitely not a "nanny person" and my kids rarely had a babysitter. I got through three months of Thomas's chemotherapy before waving the white flag and hiring a full-time nanny. Having help during this last year has been critical for us having the parental resources to help Thomas. I'm so grateful.
Now is a new season and, for now at least, we're seeing how I do without any regular babysitting help. First step: revamping the chores list for all the kids! We're rolling up our sleeves and pitching in together.
This week has been bustling busy with baking low-sugar gingerbread cookies (to freeze for St. Nicholas Day upcoming) . . .
. . . and doing all the laundry and packing for an exciting adventure this coming weekend! Report to follow!
