Nebraska: Monday

Our hotel breakfast was no great shakes and I wanted the children to have full, steady tummies before flying over the noon hour and missing lunch at 30,000 feet, so Chris took us to the Engine House Cafe in the Historic Havelock District . . . what fun for Thomas in particular!

We drove the hour, in which we inefficiently made one gas stop plus two separate potty stops, returned the rental car, and then waited.

After role-playing and much calm discussion, our loading onto the airplane went much smoother this time.

Mary's souvenir from Morrill Hall had been a new journal, which she had already completed for the four days of our trip and in which she continued to write on the airplane.

Note Joe's bug book, ever close at hand (and his magnifying glass was in his pocket).

We made it home, relatively unscathed and really pretty decently, despite heat, bad, rush hour traffic, and arriving home to plumbing problems (more on that later).

Our family is so glad we had this opportunity to travel to Nebraska!
