The Biltmore Bloom 2018

On Saturday last, our intrepid reporter stayed home with two sick-and-feverish little boys while her family--along with friends--visited The Biltmore to enjoy the spring bloom. A staff member thought it was "some kind of school group" and was aghast that the twelve children were of two families with five more kids left at home.

This post is by guest columnist Mary (9) with photography provided by John (11)

This is the Biltmore house which was built in 1895 by Cornelius Vanderbilt. It is the Incredible mansion with two-hundred fifty rooms including a inside swimming pool, a bowling alley, thirty five bedrooms, forty three bathrooms, and sixty five fireplaces. That's Huge!

The Biltmore house also comes with an amazing view. You can imagine Vanderbilt talking long walks down in the forest with maybe Eliza or Frances Vanderbilt and then coming back to take tea with his family. Wouldn't that be the life!

We were walking from our parking to the Biltmore estate but all of us were tired. There was a bench on the side of the road and we all stopped to rest a minute.

Share your memories! The Lauers and our friends are in the tree taking pictures.

Here are the Biltmore gardens in full bloom. I would love to spend just hours in the gardens among the flowers.

This is one of the statues on the Biltmore house. Can you tell who it is? It is St. Joan of Arc!
