Curriculum Plans 2015-2016

Note: Accidentally, I never published this when I drafted it in April 2015. I am publishing it now retroactively on August 23.

What we did over summer . . .

For the fourth year in the row, I offer--for whatever it's worth!--our curriculum choices for readers' perusal.

Our family will be trying something new this year: enrolling the children in the Friday morning program Catholic Classical Enrichment (CCE). For the grammar stage of children, memorization is the main method of learning. Weekly, the children will be memorizing:

  • Latin prayers
  • Catholic faith facts
  • Mathematical equations
  • Definitions of English grammar
  • Various geographic names locations on the map
  • A historical statement
  • A half dozen or so events on the history timeline

In addition, the children will complete art projects and learn to sing Gregorian chant.
