Sock Monkey Forsaken Not

A piercing cry of grief was heard from the girls' room after all the children were tucked in and drifting off to sleep. The sound of wrenching sobs ensued.

A loving father rushed down the hallway.

A certain little girl had gotten out of her bed to watch the dimming dusk out of the window over the back yard and had spotted her beloved Pink Sock Monkey left forgotten, fallen victim to the torrential rain storm, the soil, the elements.

She had seen better days.

Shoes were gathered, keys jangled in the door, and the father entered the night to rescue Pink Sock Monkey.

A hot soapy  bath

The fuschia simian was treated to several rounds of soaking in a hot bubble bath, and being scrubbed and squeezed, before bouncing around in the dryer.

A warm, clean Pink Sock Monkey was placed in Sleeping Beauty's bed to be joyfully discovered in the morning.
