This is the week Joseph decided he likes walking more than crawling. He's walking here, there, and everywhere! And I think we might have another climber, following in big sister Mary's footsteps! If we have two daredevils in one family, that should make for some fun adventures.
Earlier this week, I saw Joseph on the couch and began to help him down when John nonchalantly remarked that Joseph knows how to climb down from the couch just fine. "He does?" Indeed, I watched and have seen numerous times since that he now swings his legs backwards down off the couch and lands safely on the ground.
On the weekend when we went to the playground, I watched Joseph climb onto playground structures, albeit only about twelve inches off the ground but, still, he could climb on and off at will.
Then there was the school morning when I watched Joseph climb with ease into the drawer of the train table, then onto the train table, then over the back of the love seat, then down from the love seat to the ground on the other side.
And on Tuesday I caught this 13-month-old (twice) climbing to the top of the step stool and standing, using his hands not to hold on for balance but to rifle through my snacks and throw them to the floor, declaring triumphantly, "down!"
