John began piano lessons this month and he's enjoying them so much!

John is taking lessons from a teacher who uses the Simply Music method. I don't know much about the various methods of teaching piano, but this one starts with teaching songs and the use of two hands right away. One thing neat is the program comes with a DVD in which a professional teacher gives each lesson. So after John has his lesson in person with his teacher, he can watch the DVD all week of a teacher giving the same lesson. I put our little portable DVD player on the piano and he can watch and practice at will!

ReplyDeleteWe started back with piano this week as well after the month of August off. We started Margaret because if you have four or more students she will come to your house. Not sure it's going to work, but it's better than the hour and a half at the studio each week!
Mary's hair is so long. I want to braid it.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!!! I'm hoping to get our kids playing piano at some point. I'm inheriting an old upright grand player piano from my grandmother, and once we are able to get it moved, I'll be looking into lessons.
